Sea View Lads Angling Club was established in 1978 by a group of Barry-based sea anglers. Nearly thirty years on, the club is flourishing with a membership of over 80.

From the outset, fish conservation was important to members. In those days, it was the norm to see pictures of massive hauls of fish needlessly killed. To avoid this the club adopted a policy of trust whereby members witness and weigh each others fish before returning any not destined for the pan alive to fight another day. This approach has proved successful and we have also adopted a number of rules that encourage anglers to respect the environment and its wildlife.

Sea View Lads Angling Club meet every fortnight at our ‘HQ’, the Services Social Club in Barry and hold weekly shore competitions along with some midweek evening events while boat anglers fish monthly matches.

Each year, members arrange a number of official and unofficial fishing trips visiting other areas. Venues vary from Grand Canaria through Southern Ireland to Weymouth and the South West of England and venues across West Wales.
