4th March	Aida Blanks!!
	On a crappy day with Southerlies and rain only 11 were foolish enough to fish 5 eighed in with Mickeys bag of eels for 10lb 2 taking the honours. Paula Coles was runner up with 8lb 8oz and Mike Kerslake third with a cod included in his 3lb 5oz weight. Bosky and D Chapman took 4th and 5th. Kev Gardner had a big Bass on but lost it

25th February	The Green Man
	Roger Rockling smashed the opposition with a mixed bag of 5lb 9oz. squeezing Jodie ( I eat all the Pies - and the shop) Velda into 2nd place with 5lb 8oz. Lee Thompson, Thomas Williams, Dennis Day and Wayne Taylor took the other places.

18th February	Super Clarke strikes again
	Paul landed a fine small eyed for his 12lb 6oz winning weight. Icecream was runner up followed by Jodie, Richard Lougher, Kev Gardner and Paul Coles A good days fishing with over 80lb of fish being caught

14th Jan 2007	Snowball goes
	The snowball went with both winner Royston Harding and Lee Thompson in second place sharing the proceeds. EEls of 12lb 5 and 14lb 6 respectively were landed 1st Roy Harding 19-06 2nd Lee Thompson 17-04 3rd Aida Harris 9-12 4th Mike Kerslake 6-06 5th Colin Mcinnery 5-01 6th Richard Lougher 4-15

17th Jan	Jody's big day
	Fresh from scaring the natives in Cran Canaria, Jody Velda squeezed stringfellow into a second place in the second leg of the Xmas comp by bringing an impressive 5lb 7oz to the scales. 1st Jody Velda 5-07 2nd John Cushen 4-09 3rd Thomas Williams 4-00 4th Paul Clark 3-08 5th Mike Langford 2-12 6th G Morgan 2-08

19th November 2006	One Blustery Day
	High winds, wet rain, dark skies and a dodgy forecast didn't stop an unusually late competition taking place. 29th October 2006	Mickey's big 'un
	Mike Langford trounced a strong field with a winning bag that included a fine 18lb 8oz conger. All the remaining top six managed double figure bags and the snowball still stands! 1st M langford 30-13 2nd J Velda 18-13 3rd K Salih 18-08 4th L Thompson 16-09 5th K Gardner 14-14 6th A Harris 13-01

22nd October 2006	Bumper catches
	The good fishing continued on the following Sunday with 16 of the 19 anglers fishing for Bert's Trophy weighing in over 140lb of fish. Kevin Salih won with 17lb 15oz, Aida was second with 16lb 9oz, Alan Peterson had a brace of eels for 15lb 6oz, Lee Thompson had 14lb 10oz and Bod included two thornies in his 13lb 3oz fifth place. Colesy and Lougher had equal 6th place.

20th October	Glyns late night date with a big blonde
	Glyn Warner made his excuses and slipped out for a midnight rendevous with a cracking blonde ray of 14lb that together with an 8lb eel gave him top weight in the comp held on Friday evening. Richard Lougher had 10lb 14 for second with Paul Coles in third with 2lb 15oz. Crooky had zilch - yes he blanked!!

15th October	Loughers take control
	Father and son team Richard and Sam Lougher took first and sixth place with Kevin Gardner, Dan Crump, Lee Thompson and Tony Gwyther making up the rest of the places Richards winning weight of 21lb 14oz was made up of a fine 17lb 8oz eel plus scraps - it also won him nominated the pool. The father and son pair also landed red gurnards of 12 and 8 ounces respectively

8th October	not a lot

24t Sept	Lucky Lougher and steady Lee
	Lee Thonpson took the honours closely followed by Richard who also won the shore league leg for that day. Don Cook took the nominated fish with a small eel in a third place bag while the Harris Bros and Dobes showed that fish remain close in. 1st L Thompson 16- 02 2nd R Lougher 14-04 3rd D Cook 7-06 4th R Harris 6-09 5th A Harris 5-09 6th S Doble 4-04

17th Sept	Bassman Green
	Roger landed two fine Bass to weigh in 8lb 7oz for a second place behind Paul Coles. We are reliably informed that one Bass was returned unharmed whilst the other was reurned after a gentle knock on the head - but survived. Rogers patented groundbaiting rigs will soon be on ebay along with fourof his rigs I found on the last spring tide. 3rd September	Hounds take the points
	Kevin Salih took first place with 13lb 8oz, pipping Thomas and Kevin Gardner with Micky Aida and Roger following in his wake. Thomas and Gardner had fish of 12lb 12oz and 10lb respectively while the others fished Sully for eels and Rogers tiddler. Gary Morgan lost a fine eel (see the news section) while the rest blanked.

20th August	Mckinnery shines
	Colin included an eel of 11lb in his winning bag of 17lb 4oz. Gary Morgan (14lb) Aida (12lb 9oz) and Colesy all has eels in their weights while Lee Thompson and Kevin Gardner had straps to make the top six

13th August 2006	Mickey's big day
	Mike carried on his strong run with a bag of 19lb 7oz that included an eel of 14lb. If he had been in the diddler he would have won a small fortune. Kevin Salih was second with 9lb 13, Kevin Gardner, Aiuda Harris, Colesy and Richard Lougher were also rans

10th August 2006	Starry for Salih
	Kevin Salih landed a 10lb 4oz Starry to win the day beating Mickey Langfords 8lb 11. Nathan Warner, Paul Coles and Roger Green were runners up

21st May 2006	One Blustery day
	21 anglers faced strong southerly winds to fish for the latest doubles (that also clashed with the five man team match). The fish stayed in the west with the Deeps producing good catches for the second consecutive week. Lee Thompson kicked arse witb a fine 19lb 1oz total that included a ray and dogs while Wayne Taylor followed up last weeks win with an impressive second place 12lb 15oz closely followed by Thomas Williams with 11lb. Stringfellow was fourth with 2lb 9oz followed by Jodie Velda and Tony Gwyther with single dogs. The five man teams struggled with small bags and blanks, 10 anglers blanked on the day.

14th May 2006	Wayne's World
	Icecream took the honours with an impressive mixed bag totally over 11lb that included a fine spotted ray of 3lb 13oz. young daniel crump included an excekllent spoptted of 4lb 1oz in his 3rd place weight, following Aida's 10lb 9oz, while Roger the Rockling Green slugged it oput with a Bass of just under 6lb to gain 4th place. Richard Lougher had 6lb 2oz for fifth and Lee Thompson managed another top six placing with 2lb 9oz. All in all a good day.

23rd April	Snowball goes
	At last the snowball has been won! Nigel Grant took it with a catch that included 2 rays, one an eight pound fish. He also won overall on what was a much better day than of late with over 100lb of fish being caught by the 31 anglers fishing. Lee Thompson had almost 12lb of fish to take second place and rays and dogs made up most bags. Acker had an eel that won him nominated species on the day - probably hoping that it will fatten up by the conger championships. Full results to follow

16th April 2006	Snowball stands
	yes despite being down to 8lb (ish) the snowball pool still remains along with around 500 notes for the eventual winner. Twenty four fished on Easter Sunday and most were unsuccessful with low weights of dogs and slugs making up the winning bags topped by ace angler Kevin Sewell. The Turk won easilly with a bag of 3lb 9oz with Aida in second 8 ounces behind. Stringfellow and Cuckoo McKinnery shared third place while newbie Gary Cushen again kicked arse with a fine dog of 2lb 3oz that gave him fifth. Chan propped up the field in sixth place. With catches being so small it was interesting to see Kevin Sewell and Tony Gwyther's improvised 'card' that amounted to little more than a postage stamp (or was it a bus pass)? Next weeks match is also the doubles so a big turnout is assured.

9th April 2006	Cushens are no soft touch
	On his first competition since rejoining the club, Gary Cushen blew the opposition away with a fine thornback of 10lb. A field of over twenty fished hard in spite of windy conditions mostly in pursuit of the snowball fish. Dean carter came closest with a 6lb small eyed in a mixed bag that gave him second place with 7lb 11oz. Lee thompson and Kevin salih follwed with Gary's old man Stringfellow in 5th with a catch that included a Huss. Gary Morgan propped up the rest of the field with a bag that included a 2lb dog. results Gary Cushen 10-00 Dean Carter 7-11 Lee Thompson 4-11 Kevin salih 4-09 John Cushen 3-10 Gary Morgan 2-04

26th March	COD!!!
	Cod took the top two places in the 3rd doubles match of the year. Lee Thomson also had a couple of slugs in his winning weight while Kevin Salih followed behind. Stringfellow carried his doubles partner with a fine eel and Aida and Kevin gardner took 4th and 5th places.

19th March	Pauls double
	Paul Crook won his second match of the month with an impressive bag of (2) slugs. Richard Lougher, Kev Gardner, Aida, Kevin Salih took 2nd to 5th places with chippy and chan sharing joint sixth.

12th March	More Woe
	Paul Crook led the field on a depressing and cold day. His 1lb 10oz catch pushed Mr McHenry and Clarky into joint second with 1lb 3oz. Bob and Aida Harris followed with Colesy on their tails.

5th March 2006	Four find fish seventeen blank
	Like it says in the heading - in what must be the culmination of our worse ever run of results in 25 (or 30 if you ask Alan) years of fishing, only four anglers weighed in from a field of 21. Aida took pole position with 1lb 10oz, Roger Green second with 13oz. Salih and Thomas were runners up. A total weight of 3lb 6oz was weighed in. Assuming that all anglers used two rods thats just over an ounce per rod. The commercial lobby claim fish stocks are healthy- of course they are! If that's the case I must dash - Kylie and Paris are calling me back upstairs!

26th February	Second Doubles Disaster
	Nineteen fished on a chilly but dry day at a venue cunningly fixed by our illustrious shore sec. to avoid the fish. Five weighed in with Richard Lougher storming away with 1lb 9oz chased by Kevin Gardner's 1lb 3oz. Gary Morgan (1lb 2oz) was followed by newbie Daniel Crump and oldie Mike Langford.

19th February 2005	Roger is the man
	Roger 'the Rockling' Green landed an impressive cod of 3lb 5oz to beat a sad field of inferior anglers. His fish was tempted on a modified Ford Anglia tipped with mackerel. I cannot be bothered to key in the rest of the day's results - these will follow.

12th February 2006	Thomas comes good
	Another poor day saw only five anglers weigh in with Jody declaring a massive 4oz. Honours on the day were taken by Thomas Williams with 2lb 14oz, Aida was runner up with 1lb 2oz pipping Gary Morgans 1lb 1oz and Tony Gwythers 8oz.

5th Feb 2006	Aida beats a sad field
	Fishing remains appaling and in Sundays competition Aida Harris's 2lb 12oz bag topped a pathetic leader board. Kevin Gardner managed a 1lb weight to come second narrowly beating Lee Thompsons 12oz and Chans 12 oz in third and fourth. Bob Harris and Gary Morgan took fifth and sixth with less than 1lb between them.

27th January 2006	What a lot of blankers!
	The first doubles competition on 2006 saw 27 anglers fish hard in extremely cold Easterly winds and only 7 weighed in. Mr McHenry came first with 2lb 8oz, beating Clarkies 2lb 20z Codling (yes really - a cod). Tony Gwyther had 1lb for third and Jodie 11oz for fourth. Colesy and Thomas had 10 and 9 oz to take fifth and sixth.

13th January 2006	Uncle Albert comes good
	The past fortnight has seen the new year get off to a mixed start. On the first competition of the year over 20 fished but half blanked and little worthy of note was weighed in. On Sunday the 15th another large contingency booked in and some anglers enjoyed a far better day. Colin Mckinnery included a rare cod of 10lb in his 13lb bag that helped him top a first place in the 5 man team shore doubles with Kevin Gardner in second place, their team winning hands down on the day. The club comp was disputed after a query over start times but after a stewards inquiry the top position was taken by Lee Thompson with a bag including eels, Colin Gimblett took a noteworthy 4th position.
